Young Aspiring Technicians Get Training Opportunity at Flow

Flow Launches Internship Program 2019: Another Hallmark initiative, demonstrating Flow’s commitment to connecting communities and improving lives

St. george’s, grenada, November 4th, 2019 – Five (5) young TAMCC graduates gathered at FLOW head office located a Mr. Hartman, St. George on Monday 4th November to be officially enrolled in the Flow Internship 2019. 

Flow, the leading local provider of telecommunication services in Grenada, has embarked on this new initiative to give young local graduates, in the technology field, an opportunity to apply their knowledge, achieve new learning and gain invaluable experience.

These young persons were recommended by TAMCC based on scholastic achievement and their interest in the field of technology. Applicants were then interviewed for the five spots currently available in the program. Successful Applicants were informed of their admittance into the program and formally invited to the FLOW head office to be formally inducted on Monday 4th, November 2019.   

Awaiting their arrival was Country Manager James Pitt supported by members of his Senior Management team and various departmental leads across the company. “This Programme has been long awaited with much anticipation and enthusiasm. We envision this Internship Program will become another one of our company’s hallmark initiatives, which will further allow us to demonstrate our commitment to connecting communities and improving lives” remarked Flow Country Manager, James Pitt at the ceremony. “Since our operations begun in Grenada, we have invested in the lives of hundreds of Grenadian families. We are convinced as a company, that this Internship program initiative will allow us to continue in our commitment to connect people and transform Grenadian lives. I am thrilled to welcome the new recipients and applaud their scholastic success thus far.  I urge you to exercise the discipline, deliver the effort and demonstrate the right attitude to achieve success. Learn from your mentors. These are some of the brightest minds and best talents in their field throughout this region” said Pitt.

 

Human Resource Generalist Jenine Viechweg Johnson informed the gathering that the participants will commence their training immediately. Initially, several presentations will be made to the participants about the company, its processes and procedures and functioning of various technological departments. This will be followed by, working hands on, day to day, with technicians from the various departments over the next twelve months. Mrs. Viechweg Johnson echoed Mr. Pitt’s clarion call to the awardees to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the program and wished them the best of luck in throughout their tenure with Flow.  

Speaking on behalf of the awardees and herself, Ms. Nykelti Collins thanked Flow and its management for the timely opportunity extended to the awardees and gave her commitment to learn as much as she can while sparing no effort to meet the challenges that may lie ahead.  Ms. Collins advised her fellow awardees “stay focused, work hard, dream big, and don’t be afraid to explore new fields that may delight you along the way. It does not matter where we begin this journey. What counts is that we are here now, and with this opportunity we can achieve great things.” At the end of the ceremony, the interns were taken on a tour of the facility and introduced to staff.

FLOW pledges to continue its support to this and other internal initiatives that provides educational support and opportunity to young deserving citizens of Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique.
