Flow Celebrates World Environment Day
Colleagues plant trees to help combat air pollution
St. Georges, Grenada, 5th June 2019:
Colleagues at Flow celebrated World Environment Day on June 5th by planting fruit trees
at its Mt. Hartman compound.
Each World Environment Day is organized around a theme that draws attention to a
particularly pressing environmental concern and is hosted in a different country, annually.
The theme for 2019 is “Air Pollution” and was hosted in China.
The day is set aside by the United Nations to encourage worldwide awareness and action
to protect our environment. Since its inception in 1974, the event has become a global
platform for public outreach and is celebrated in over 100 countries.
Recognizing the importance of the day, the Flow Team lead by Marketing and
Communication Executive Jelani Glean planted fruit trees around the company’s main
offices as a contribution towards reducing air pollution. Glean said “World Environment
Day should be celebrated by everyone. As citizens of the Earth we have a responsibility
to take meaningful action to contribute to maintaining our environment for ourselves and
our future generations. I am really pleased with the support our team has shown towards
this initiative and how willing they were to pitch in to help”.
Flow wishes every Grenadian a happy World Environment Day and encourages everyone
to do their part in contributing towards a healthier environment.
